The Vesmody series are designed as a “associative thickener” for acrylic and polyurethane systems, which creates and stabilizes viscosity by forming a network between binding molecules and pigment particles.

The Vesmody series can be used alone or in combination with other Vesmody series thickeners, as well as with other thickener technologies. It is recommended to use the Vesmody series on the following systems: Water-based Interior and exterior wall paints, latex paints, anti-corrosion paints, emulsion plasters, adhesives and joint fillers.

Synthetic acrylic-based polymers are conveniently grouped into three general classes: alkali-swellable (or soluble) emulsions (ASE group) hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsions (HASE group) and hydrophobically modified, ethoxylated urethane
resins (HEUR group).

ASE group are modifications of ASE group following an addition of hydrophobic functional groups. These are commonly known as associative thickeners. In its simplest form,
an associative thickener is a water-soluble polymer containing several relatively hydrophobic groups.

HEUR group also belong to the category of associative thickeners. But unlike HASE group, HEUR group are nonionic substances and are not dependent on alkali for activation of the thickening mechanism.

Vesmody A Series:

Water-based systems are hydrophobic or alkalimodified water-soluble low, low-medium and medium viscosity values with anionic acrylic polymers modified are acrylic (ASE&HASE) thickener. HASE stands for hydrophobically modified “Alkaline Swellable Emulsion” (ASE&HASE).

Vesmody U Series:

Water-based systems are used in non-solvent-containing Ionic & free VOC/SVOC-free, hydrophobic modified, water-soluble, low, medium and high values of viscosity polyether polyurethane (HEUR) thickener.

Properties:

1. Low odor content.
2. It provides viscosity stabilization with good scouring resistance and water resistance.
3. It is the product that develops excellent antisplash and yield resistance.
4. It provides good thermal stability and storage stability.
5. It is used for anti-microbial and enzyme invasion prevention (bio-based content).
